Saturday, May 01, 2010 (15:25:00) - Black Ops Trailer + frame analysis
According to studio head Mark Lamia, Treyarch has focused their entire studio on the game, “with dedicated multiplayer, single-player and co-op teams creating the most intense, gripping and riveting experience possible for our fans on all fronts.”
But does this mean Dedicated Server and Mods?, guess we'll just have to see as the marketing campaign starts.
Friday, April 30, 2010 (23:34:00) - Buy HoN or loose your account!
HoN is going retail on Wednesday, May 12 @ 4:00pm EST (-5 GMT). Starting Wednesday, May 5 @ 4:00pm EST (-5 GMT) and this means if you dont purchase the game then you will loose your account .
Furthermore, all your skilz you've earned since day one will be reset.
In other words, If there is a nickname you want or if you would like to secure your own nickname you should take the time to purchase your account now instead of later.
Here's some info from the HoN team sent out to all its members:-
1.) What happens when HoN goes retail?
When HoN goes retail it will require a paid account to play. If you have not purchased your account you may do so by visiting https://www.heroesofnewerth.com/purchase_account.php
2.) Will HoN be free? How much will it cost? Are there any recurring fees?
HoN will not be free, it will cost a ONE TIME $30.00 USD payment with ZERO recurring fees.
3.) What will happen with stats, replays, PSR, and SMR after retail?
All stats will be reset upon release. Also all historical data of previous matches, including replays, will be purged. SMR and PSR (the ratings used for match making and public games) will be compressed, bringing all accounts closer to 1500 as we feel this will positively impact gameplay and team balances post release.
4.) Will HoN still be updated and new content added after retail?
We plan to consistently update HoN with lots of new heroes, items, features, and other goodies throughout the product life cycle for free.
5.) If I Pre-Purchased can my name be taken? How do I stop my name from being taken?
If you pre-purchased your account your nickname can not be taken and that is the only way to secure it.
6.) If I Pre-Purchase before May 5th, can I take a non Pre-Purchased accounts name?
Absolutely, and on top of that we will make sure that all pre-purchased accounts have one nickname change credit to use for May 5.
7.) Are Golden Shields, Golden Names, and Taunt available anymore? Will they ever be available again?
Unfortunately those pre-purchase incentives ended with closed beta a month ago. We will not sell Golden Shields or Golden Names again but accounts will be able to acquire Taunt and other cool account features post release.
8.) I'm from South East Asia and I can't Pre-Purchase, why? How will I play after retail?
We will be making our formal announcement for our partner and strategy for SEA early next week. If you play from SEA your nickname will be able to taken but that will not impact you moving forward past retail.
I want to thank everyone who helped us beta test the game. I could not be more proud of the product we have created and I look forward to seeing most of you post retail! If you have not purchased the game yet, you may do so at
https://www.heroesofnewerth.com/purchase_account.php
It'll be interesting to see how this pans out, the community is very large and has been getting bigger by the day when the game was in beta and free, however with the $30.00 price tag, how many will take it on now they've been playing it for some time.

Bohemia Interactive has announced that ArmA 2: Operation Arrowhead, a standalone expansion for ArmA 2, will be released worldwide from June 29, 2010. Operation Arrowhead promises to deliver more highly authentic military simulation gameplay, while shifting the action to an all-new environment.
Set in the fictional region of Takistan and taking place three years after ArmA 2's campaign, Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead features three new world maps with new terrain: sandy deserts, a dense city with surrounding countryside and a rocky mountainous region.
Also included in the standalone expansion pack is support for controlling unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to observe, strike and rescue from afar, along with a fully-modelled FLIR thermal imaging simulation to give the player advantages while working at night.
A new and chilling geo-political themed campaign is also included.
Rest assured we'll be setting our mappers onto this when its available.
Friday, April 23, 2010 (07:17:00) - GKNOVA6.com's Transmission 3 is LIVE
Here's the 3rd transmission from www.GKNOVA6.com which is supposed to relate to some type of game being developed. The marketing is quite similar to that of infinity ward's MW2 when it was first promoted.
Tranmission 3:- 22nd April 2010
The other 2 transmissions are at the bottom of this blog
For those not following the coded transmissions, On the GKNOVA6 there are five vertical lights and as of April 22, 2010, there are only three which are active. Audio can be heard in the background saying "Nova Six" and "1969." In Morse code, the letters "CoD7" can be heard..
It is possible the game is set in a Cold War turned into a war because the player can see one of the screens shows an atom splitting, a cause of a nuclear explosion (which was feared throught the Cold War.)
Could this be COD7? who knows, some are saying its fallout3,
The extract below explains this a little more (taken from en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kryptos)
The site includes multiple references to the Cold War, including a photograph of John F. Kennedy delivering a speech about the Cuban Missile Crisis. A voice over in the background of the site's "first transmission" can be heard saying a letter-numerical code: M O D 1 9 6 9 – D U G B T R L R F M * G W O X A W D N S N O C * Y X M M *
"Men have sought to make a world from their own conception and to draw from their own minds all the material which they employed" is a quote from Francis Bacon, when commenting on the advancements of science in the Middle Ages.
The full quote reads: "Men have sought to make a world from their own conception and to draw from their own minds all the material which they employed, but if, instead of doing so, they had consulted experience and observation, they would have the facts and not opinions to reason about, and might have ultimately arrived at the knowledge of the laws which govern the material world."
Matt_Teddy on Twitter cracked the code, which he thought to be "CLASSIFIED ANNOUNCEMENT SOLD." It was later found out that it was actually "Classified Announcement SOMD."
Later on, during the early weeks of April 2010, many game related places received packages containing USB sticks. This lead to a website SOMD.com, (A website for Southern Maryland, which is where the packages were sent from.) The website is used for local news, event planning and community announcements. There was an announcement within this site pertaining to GKNOVA6, posted by a user named "Eve Reign." The posted announcement was a long and entirely lettered cipher:
Obviously the images and narration means something!..
Here's the first 2 transmissions if you havent seen them:- Transmission 1:- 2nd April 2010
Transmission 2:- 9th April 2010
This is certainly getting alot of public attention. I suspect that the marketing campaign is going in the direction the devolopment company wants it to go in.
Will be funny if it turns out to be some really crap game...
